The Simple Woman's Daybook, 3/16/09

Hosted by Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, MARCH 16, 2009

Outside my window...I'm thrilled to say that almost all of my large driveway is free of snow and ice!!

I am thinking...about all the things I need to do this week to get ready for next Monday, when my youngest dd and I to travel to my oldest dd's home to help out when she has a C-section later this month. I must make lists!

From the learning room...will most likely be U.S. History, English, and Spanish II.

I am thankful...to God that He protects us and takes care of us. I'm also thankful that the missions trip fundraising auction and coffee shop/goodies on Friday night brought in over $5,000 for the missions trip next month!

From the kitchen...will come simple, quick, and easy meals, like pancakes and sausages, vegetarian chili and cornbread, homemade chicken soup with ramen noodles, and chicken in Rice-a-roni. I'm also thinking about what I can cook that will leave lots of leftovers for my husband.

I am wearing...a gray tank top and my kitty p.j.s.

I am creating...this post. :)

I am going...to continue to crochet the baby afghan I'm making for my soon-to-be-born granddaughter. :)

I am hoping...to get everything done this week that I want to.

I am hearing...myself typing on the laptop, the hum of the desktop computer that my husband is using, and the local morning news on the t.v.

Around the house...there are dishes to wash and stuff to pick up and put away. (Yes, this answer is the same every week!)

One of my favorite things...the ice and snow going away!

I've been thinking about...some very important decisions that will have to be made in the next few months and praying for God's guidance.

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week: spending time making my lists; finding the things I've been saving to bring to my grandchildren; doctor's follow-up appointment and refilling my prescriptions on Tuesday; doing childcare for the church on Thursday; meeting with a friend on Saturday; going to the laundromat.

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2009

Outside my window...it's brightening and still cold. We'll have temperatures in the thirties twice this week - yay!

I am thinking...about the long list of things I need to do today and throughout the week.

From the learning room...will come schoolwork (and later Algebra II with my husband teaching).

I am thankful...to God for His blessings in our lives.

From the kitchen...will come meals, but I haven't planned much yet. There's grocery shopping to do.

I am wearing...a gray tank top and my kitty p.j.s.

I am creating...a to-do list.

I am going...to be very productive this week. :)

I am hoping...to succeed in getting a lot done this week.

I am hearing...myself typing on the laptop and the local news show on television.

Around the house...there are dishes to wash and stuff to pick up and put away. (Yes, this answer is the same every week!)

One of my favorite things...winter temperatures getting up into the thirties! :)

I've been thinking about...some very important decisions that will have to be made in the next few months and praying for God's guidance.

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week: Dd#3's driving time for the next three mornings; Driver's Ed. for the next three afternoons; possible Bible Quiz practice on Tuesday; a mandatory missions trip team meeting Tuesday evening for team members and parents; making cookies for Thursday's homeschool group activity; providing childcare during our church's women's Bible study on Thursday morning; our homeschool group's "movie day" and Bible Quiz practice on Thursday afternoon; and a busy Sunday.

The Simple Woman's Daybook, 2/2/09

Hosted by Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2009

Outside my window...it's dark, but it's above zero! It might get up to the mid-30s today. That's exciting!

I am thinking...about our trip to the Big City this week. We have car maintenance to get done, and then dd#3 has a doctor's appointment.

From the learning room...will come schoolwork (and later Algebra II with my husband teaching).

I am thankful...to God for our income tax refund. That's a great blessing.

From the kitchen...will come meals, but I haven't planned much yet. There's grocery shopping to do.

I am wearing...a gray tank top and my kitty p.j.s.

I am creating...a to-d0 list for the next couple of days. Lots of errands to do.

I am going...to try to exercise for a few minutes today.

I am hoping...to feel more energetic.

I am hearing...myself typing on the laptop and the local news show on television.

Around the house...there are dishes to wash and stuff to pick up and put away. (Yes, this answer is the same every week!)

One of my favorite things...is a big tax refund! :) Praise God!

I've been thinking about...some very important decisions that will have to be made in the next six months and praying for God's guidance.

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week: Dd#3's driving time this morning; Driver's Ed. Monday and Tuesday; I'm leading Bible Quiz practice on Tuesday; our homeschool group's monthly moms' meeting Tuesday evening; our trip to the Big City on Wednesday; providing childcare during our church's women's Bible study on Thursday morning; a local Bible Quiz meet on Saturday; hoping to have my first snowmobile ride at a weekend winter festival on Sunday afternoon.

The Simple Woman's Daybook, 1/26/09

Hosted by Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, JANUARY 26, 2009

Outside my window...it's bright but very, very cold (30 below zero).

I am thinking...about a doctor's visit I have this morning to discuss recent tests (all normal, thank God, but for a fatty liver due to obesity, which is reversible with weight loss). I also have a cough, which I'll have her check out.

From the learning room...will come schoolwork (and later Algebra II with my husband teaching).

I am thankful...to God that our church's annual meetings are so peaceful. We've been at this church a little over four years, shortly after we moved here, and every annual meeting has been a pleasure to attend.

From the kitchen...will come something! LOL! I haven't gone shopping for this week's meals yet.

I am wearing...a gray tank top and my kitty p.j.s.

I am creating...a small afghan for dd#3's youth group's missions trip auction.

I am going...to hopefully clip the cats' nails this week. Actually, I hold each cat, and my husband does the clipping.

I am hoping...to hear God clearly about the decisions we will need to make in the next months.

I am hearing...myself typing on the desktop computer, the sound of the television on, and my husband making his breakfast.

Around the house...there are dishes to wash and stuff to pick up and put away. (Yes, this answer is the same every week!)

One of my favorite things...is a hot cup of decaf tea in my tea cup.

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week: dd#3's very first week of Driver's Ed. classes today, Tuesday, and Wednesday; her first time driving this week (!); Bible Quiz practice Thursday; dd#1's birthday Saturday; helping with our church's cofffee time Sunday morning and a Bible Quiz fundraiser at the other church (our team is a combination of quizzers from two churches) at noon on Sunday.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...
